Norva App Privacy Policy

Norva Wellness Pty Ltd ("we", "our", "us") operates the Norva Wellness mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

## Information We Collect

### Data Stored on Your Device
All your personal data is stored locally on your device and in your personal iCloud account. We do not operate servers that store your data. This includes:
- Session history (type, duration, temperature, mood ratings)
- Journal entries
- Daily check-in data (sleep, energy, stress ratings)
- Goals and progress data
- User profile (name, experience level, equipment)
- App preferences and settings

### Apple Health Data
With your explicit permission, the App reads the following data from Apple Health:
- Heart rate and resting heart rate
- Heart rate variability (HRV)
- Sleep analysis and sleep stages
- VO₂ Max

The App writes the following data to Apple Health:
- Workout sessions (cold plunge, sauna, breathwork, contrast therapy)
- Mindful minutes (breathwork sessions)
- Water temperature (cold plunge sessions)
- Active energy burned (estimated)

**Apple Health data is only accessed when you explicitly grant permission.** The App functions fully without Apple Health access. Health data is processed on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

### Apple Watch Data
If you use the Apple Watch companion app, session data and heart rate measurements are synced between your watch and phone via Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. This data stays on your devices and in your iCloud account.

## How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to:
- Display your session history and progress
- Calculate your recovery score
- Generate personalised session recommendations
- Track streaks, achievements, and goals
- Provide health insights and correlations
- Sync data between your devices via iCloud

## Data We Do NOT Collect

- We do not collect personally identifiable information
- We do not track your location
- We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs
- We do not sell, share, or transmit your data to third parties
- We do not display advertisements
- We do not collect usage analytics

## Data Storage and Security

- All data is stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage (UserDefaults, file system)
- Health history data is stored in a local file in your app's documents directory
- iCloud sync uses Apple's CloudKit/iCloud infrastructure with Apple's encryption
- We have no access to your data at any point

## Data Deletion

You can delete all your data at any time:
- Open the App → Profile → Data → Delete All Data
- This permanently removes all sessions, check-ins, journal entries, goals, achievements, and progress
- Uninstalling the App also removes all locally stored data
- Data synced to Apple Health remains in Apple Health and can be deleted from the Health app

## Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. The only external services used are:
- **Apple Health (HealthKit)** — with your explicit permission
- **Apple iCloud** — for device-to-device sync
- **Apple WatchConnectivity** — for Apple Watch sync

## Children's Privacy

The App is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The App does not require an account or collect personally identifiable information from any user.

## Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
