What the research actually shows
Men who used a sauna 4-7 times per week had a 40% lower risk of all-cause mortality over 20 years of follow-up.— University of Eastern Finland study, JAMA Internal Medicine
Dopamine Surge
A single cold immersion boosts dopamine by up to 250%, at levels that stay elevated for hours, not minutes.
Norepinephrine Spike
Cold water triggers a massive norepinephrine release, sharpening focus, reducing inflammation, and elevating mood.
Faster Muscle Recovery
Athletes recover 24-48 hours faster with consistent cold water immersion after training.
Deeper Sleep
Cold exposure activates your parasympathetic nervous system, promoting deeper, more restorative sleep cycles.
Growth Hormone Boost
Heat stress from sauna sessions can increase growth hormone by 2-5x per session, critical for recovery and longevity.
Heart Health
4+ sauna sessions per week were linked to substantially lower cardiovascular mortality in a landmark 20-year study of 2,300 participants.
Cognitive Protection
Frequent sauna use was associated with a 65% reduced risk of Alzheimer's disease in a 20-year longitudinal study.
Immune Resilience
Heat stress triggers heat shock proteins that strengthen cellular repair and boost immune function.
Superior to Cold Alone
Meta-analysis shows contrast therapy outperforms cold-only and passive recovery for athletic performance.
Enhanced Circulation
Alternating vasodilation and vasoconstriction creates a pumping effect that flushes metabolic waste faster than either alone.
Accelerated Tissue Repair
Contrast therapy reduced ankle swelling in 3 days vs. standard treatment in a controlled trial of 115 participants.
The Complete Reset
Heat opens, cold closes. The cycle trains your nervous system to shift between stress and recovery, building resilience you feel all day.
The Contrast Protocol
Cold therapy is powerful. Heat therapy is powerful. But the science shows contrast therapy, alternating between both, unlocks benefits neither can achieve alone.

Questions before you order?
Heat, setup, space, and returns, answered.
Does it really reach 60°C?
The system is rated to heat the enclosed cabin up to 60°C in around 15 minutes using 1,400W across six far-infrared panels and a heated foot pad. Room temperature, ventilation and how often the door is opened can affect warm-up time and the temperature you experience.
Will I actually sweat in it?
It is designed to build a full-body sweat, but the timing and amount vary by person, starting temperature, heat setting and heat tolerance. Many people begin on a lower setting and increase it over several sessions.
Is it the same as a traditional sauna?
It delivers a sauna-style heat and sweat experience, but it is not identical to a high-temperature Finnish sauna. Traditional saunas primarily heat the surrounding air and often run hotter. Norva uses dry far-infrared radiant heat and reaches up to 60°C.
Is this infrared or steam?
Infrared. There is no water tank, steam generator or plumbing. Six far-infrared panels provide dry radiant heat around the seated body.
What is the red light?
The Infrared Pro includes a built-in 660nm red-light feature that can be switched on during a heat session. It creates the red session environment without needing a separate panel or stand.
Will it work with a normal Australian power point?
Yes. It is rated for Australian 240V/50Hz power and connects to a standard 10A outlet. No electrician or hardwiring is required.
How much electricity does it use?
The sauna is rated at 1,400W, or 1.4kW at full power. At the maximum rated draw, a 30-minute session uses up to about 0.7kWh before allowing for any thermostat cycling. Multiply that by your electricity rate per kWh for a simple cost estimate.
Does the chair come with it?
Yes. The chair, heated foot pad, infrared panels, controls and setup essentials are included.
Can I return it after trying it?
Yes. The current product policy includes a 30-day home trial. Returns must be undamaged and in the original packaging for a full refund or exchange. Add a direct link to the full returns policy beside this answer and state return-freight responsibility clearly.
What does the warranty cover?
The one-year warranty covers manufacturing defects and component failures during normal use. Claims are handled by Norva’s Australian support team.
